The Mamiya 645 Pro is the true pinnacle of 6×4.5 cameras that Mamiya ever produced, coming from a huge line of 645 cameras before it. Its ‘Pro’ naming is no exaggeration - it’s got all of the features any photographer could ever want out of a medium format camera, packaged into a sturdy system camera with a huge range of modular components and options.
This copy comes with the TTL metered prism, allowing for fully manual metering, in either spot or average metering modes, and use in aperture priority with auto shutter speeds, with an AE lock option, too. Along with this, the interchangeable film back allows for ISO 25-6400 film stocks, with exposure compensation for up to 3 stops in 3rd-stop increments (changing the practical range to 3-51200 ISO!)
The body itself boasts the most features of all, which is really where the ingenuity of Mamiya shines through in this kit. On the front is the battery check button, shutter button - with a locked, unlocked, and self-timer position on its dial- and the Mamiya 645 lens mount, allowing for use with all Mamiya 645 glass! On the left of the body is the mirror lockup lever, hotshoe, and flash sync port, with the multi-exposure lever and detachable winding knob on the right. On the top is the shutter speed dial, with speeds from 1/1000th - 4 seconds, plus bulb, with an auto-shutter and AE-Lock option available too. When used in auto mode, there are half-stop intermediate speeds available too.
Overall condition - This camera is in stunning condition overall. Functionally, everything is perfect. The meter works perfectly; all mechanics are functional, smooth, well aligned, and a joy to handle. The camera is in amzing cosmetic conditon too, there are some very light scratches on the body, though the plastic body means these have very little visual effect. The only real thing worth mentioning is the prism - there is some sticker residue on the base (see photos), and the rubber around the eyepiece has been reglued by us. Please see photos for more detail. All the manuals are in virtually new condition.
